A Legal Engineering consultancy for legal teams adopting AI.
Synapse is an independent Legal Engineering and AI Transformation consultancy helping in-house legal teams assess AI opportunities, redesign legal workflows, implement practical AI solutions, and drive adoption through training and change management.
Why in-house legal experience matters
AI changes how legal work is done, and so it touches the things a General Counsel is accountable for: the quality of advice, the management of risk, confidentiality, and the team’s relationship with the business.
Designing that change well depends on understanding how in-house lawyers actually triage requests, where judgment sits in a contract review, what the business will tolerate, and what a GC needs to be able to explain to a board. That understanding comes from having done the job.
Synapse brings that perspective, combined with practical knowledge of workflow design and legal technology.
How we work
Independent and vendor-neutral
Our fees come only from clients, so recommendations are based on fit — including making better use of what you already own.
Workflow before technology
We redesign the work first, then decide where tools — and AI specifically — make it better.
Lawyers stay in control
Human review is designed in wherever judgment is involved, with clear rules on where AI is used.
Built to hand over
Everything is documented and owned by your team, so it keeps working after the engagement ends.

Leïla Nassiri-Jamet is a three-time General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer with more than 15 years in fast-scaling technology companies across AI, SaaS and regulated fintech. Her work has always been about turning legal complexity into clear decisions that keep businesses moving.
She has built and led legal teams through rapid growth, so she knows the General Counsel’s position first-hand: a lean team, a growing business, rising expectations from the board, and the constant need to do more with the same resources.
Working at the intersection of law, technology and business, alongside founders, executive teams, Product and Engineering, she earned the nickname “amphibian lawyer”: someone equally at home with legal, product and technology teams.
Through Synapse, she brings those worlds together, helping in-house legal teams move from experimenting with AI to putting it to work. Her focus is hands-on, tool-agnostic Legal Engineering: translating legal expertise into practical AI workflows for triage, contract review, playbooks, legal knowledge and internal Q&A, and then designing, implementing and operationalising them with the team.
